Toolbox Baby and Toddler (0-4 years)

6 Week Course – For Parents/Caregivers of children aged 0-4 years

Parenting Place is a charity with a heart for New Zealand families. Their programmes relate to those with a newborn, a teenager, a troupe of grandkids, or nieces and nephews, and are designed to inspire, encourage, and support the strengthening of whanau relationships.

ToolBox is one of their most widely delivered programmes.

Leaders are trained through the Parenting Place and Taranaki is lucky to have Katy Quest, Carla Moore, Caitlin Hocken and Sonya Goodchild-Brooks as accredited programme providers.

Course Outline

Toolbox Baby and Toddler covers a range of topics, including the importance of love and connection, different parenting styles, understanding your child and their big feelings, discipline, boundaries, play and more.

This course is aimed specifically at Parents/Caregivers of babies and toddlers.

Session 1 – Love is the foundation
Session 2 – Parents
Session 3 – Stronger, deeper, closer
Session 4 – Heart-led parenting
Session 5 – Discipline without shouting, force or fluster
Session 6 – Putting it all together

Resources Required

The Toolbox Baby and Toddler workbook is provided to each participant.

Delivery

In 6 sessions, over 6 weeks, the Toolbox Baby & Toddler programme supports the development of a strong and loving bond with your child, and will build your confidence as a parent/caregiver.

This course commences in Term 2, 2023 –  From 9.30am – 11.30am on Wednesday 3 May 2023 (and weekly thereafter on 10, 17, 24, 31 May and 7 June 2023).

With prior arrangement, we can offer childminding onsite (other end of the building at Flourish Taranaki, so close by) at a cost of $15 per child per session, and an extra $5 per child from the same family. ‘Babes in arms’ are welcome to join the group.

A further course will run in Term 3, 2023 – Dates TBC.

NB – We have determined that Term 4 is a very busy time for families, and people struggle to commit to 6 weekly sessions with so much going on, and many year-end commitments.

Cost

The cost is $50 per person, to be paid via invoice to secure your place, and covers the cost of the detailed workbook that is yours to keep for future reference. This cost goes directly to Parenting Place.

The Toi Foundation have generously funded the remaining $1,600 in operational costs of facilitating and delivering this course to participants.
